THIN LIZZY: Previously Unreleased Live Album 'Still Dangerous' Due In March.

THIN LIZZY's seminal double live album "Live & Dangerous" is consistently featured in polls as one of the greatest live albums of all time. Yet it is not really a live record at all as it features overdubs and post-production across the album. March 2, 2009 sees the release of the "Still Dangerous", the real "Live & Dangerous"!

"Still Dangerous" is the raw, unadulterated, untouched sound of THIN LIZZY at the absolute height of its powers. Recorded on the band's sold-out 1977 "Bad Reputation" tour, "Still Dangerous" captures the classic quartet of Lynott, Downey, Gorham and Robertson on fire at the celebrated Tower Theatre in Philadelphia.

The album features tracks that never made the "Live & Dangerous" release and all cuts are previously unreleased. The album was mixed by the legendary Glyn Johns (THE ROLLING STONES, THE WHO, THE EAGLES, LED ZEPPELIN), with contributions from Scott Gorham and Brian Downey.

"Still Dangerous" is the definitive live statement from one of rock's most revered and enduring groups. The recordings that make up "Still Dangerous" were discovered by accident in an overlooked band lockup — a happy accident for THIN LIZZY fans and music fans in general as it is set to become an essential addition to the legacy of one of rocks greatest ever acts. The album is fully endorsed by Phil Lynott's estate and the band.

"Still Dangerous" is the first release on the Thin Lizzy Productions label (distributed by Proper Music Distribution).

Je viens de m'offrir Jaibreak, mon premier de Thin Lizzy car je trouve ce groupe très bon, je ne connaissais vraiment pas, et c'est Servanne qui m'a convaincu avec le live machin dont je ne me rappelle plus! Bref super groupe et pour 4,99 euros, je n'allais pas me priver...

Il te faut maintenant "Johnny the fox" et "Bad reputation" pour avoir le tiercé gagnant. Sans oublier bien sûr le Live and Dangerous qui est d'une beauté incroyable.
Pour le reste, après avoir écouté tout ça, ben, tu feras comme tout le monde: t'achèteras le reste de la disco du groupe et tu découvriras de vrais merveilles du hard rock.

Oui, très beau.
Et Thunder and lightning est leur album le plus heavy, il devrait te plaire. On y trouve des chansons rapides et heavy comme la chanson-titre ou Cold sweat, mais aussi des choses plus calmes comme The sun goes down qui est tout simplement magnifique. Sur ce disque, c'est John Sykes qui tient la guitare avec Scott Gorham, et il a un style assez 80s.

Renegade est sans doute l'album de Lizzy le plus éclectique. En effet , on a à la fois des morceaux très hard 80's comme Hollywood , des titres inattendus comme Fats (hommage au grand jazzman Fats Waller) très jazzy et Mexican Blood à tonalité hispanique. Etonnant , non ? Tout cela est porté par la voix enjoleuse , chaude et envoûtante de Lynott.

Je trouve que "Renegade" est un album splendide, très varié comme l'a dit Phil. On peut signaler aussi le très puissant "Angel of Death" qui ouvre l'album, ou bien le très réussi morceau-titre qui alterne passages calmes et guitares agressive. En fait, malgré la grande diversité de cet album, il reste très homogène et c'est pour moi un des meilleur de la discographie du groupe !

Thin Lizzy have parted company with Guitarist / Vocalist John Sykes.

Thin Lizzy guitarist and main stay, Scott Gorham:
‘Its been a very tough time of late for the band and myself, firstly with drummer Tommy Aldridge’s injury and now the subsequent decision for John and the rest of the group to go their separate ways. I can only apologize to everyone who has supported us over the years, but we will be back up to full speed soon ’

Scott Gorham intends to announce future plans for Thin Lizzy shortly. All Thin Lizzy shows confirmed for 2009 will be cancelled or postponed until further notice.

Je me suis offert Renegade tout à l'heure et je trouve que c'est un bon album, moins entraînent que certains précédent, mais je l'aime bien, il y a un gros travail sur les ambiances...

Ravis que Phil himself soit d'accord... Le prochain sur ma liste c'est Thunder and Lightning, mais j'aimerais que u me donne ton avis car tu le connais mieux que moi! De plus y'a John Sykes et ça m'intéresse à fond !

Thunder And Lightning est excellent avec l'apport de John Sykes qui amène force et vitesse et ne pas oublier Darren Wharton aux claviers qui apporte un son très aérien à l'ensemble... L'album le plus "heavy" de Lizzy...!!!
